My 29 gallon tank just finished cycling and now it's time for the last water change before I start moving fish over. I have a yellow lab that got beat up and is blind out of one eye that will be living in this tank for a few months.

I snapped a few pics of the main tank too. One on my labs made a cool spot for himself and my big red zebra has been slowly trying to dig to china under a pile of rocks.

Thanks. Next on the list to do is finish up a sump for the main tank and then I'll be setting up another tank (hopefully a 55).

Oh. Assuming you got it used then. Good deal on the tank. Ive done both before, drilled definitely hides the equipment nicer.

Yeah, it was used. I would love to have a drilled tank and with my past experiences personally drilling, this tank will not become one.

Only reason I am switching to a sump is cause I've grown tired of seeing heaters and filters.

Yeah that tank is loaded with equipment. What do you have in there besides the 2 heaters? Do you multiple filters?

Why so many heaters? I never run more than 2. For a tank that size, I think 2 250watt heaters would be plenty.

I have 4 200w. When the weather gets warmer I take one out but since the tank is in my basement with tile floors and am ambient temp of around 55-60 its too much for 3 heaters to maintain 80-82 degrees. I used to have 2 500w heaters but one failed and since then I've felt more comfortable with the lower wattages.

That's a pretty cold basement. Do you have windows that are drafty? I had two and I got those plastic window sealers from home depot and it's easily 10 degrees warmer in the winter

Also what's that gatorade bottle for?

The Gatorade bottle is a DIY 550gph filter.

That's a 6' tank right? What light are u running. I've been looking for a 6' fixture lol

Yeah, 6' which is why it's so hard to get a good full picture. I got my light from aquatraders.com.

My basement is below ground up here in the mountains. Plus it's cheaper on the gas bill if we keep it that low while the upstairs is a steady 75

Not a bad price. $150 shipped for a 320w 72" fixture

My only issue with it is the heat that comes off of it. It probably evaporates 20 gallons from my tank in one week. It's a great way though to make sure I keep up with my weekly water changes.
