how do you stairalize new rock or do i need to worry about it. i dont want to put it in with all of my cichlids and have a problem.

Do you know what kind of rock it is? Some aren't safe for aquariums.
If you're sure it's safe, I'd boil some water and pour it over the rocks and let them soak for a while. Get a clean bristle brush and scrub the rocks to remove any dirt and debris. Change the water out once it cools and do the process again. I did this to my rocks and it worked well.
