What are the ideal conditions for my oscar and what should I change? he's laying on his side again, I also think that his outer fins are turning white, I'll snap another photo

if you don't have any nitrates and you still have ammonia and nitrites your tank isn't cycled yet. you need to do large water changes everyday until you get 0 nitrite and 0 ammonia.

here is a good care sheet to help you but good quality water is of the most importance at this point. you need to do water changes to help him get through the cycle. good luck. :)

Thanks, my oscar seems to come alive around 6:30-7 pm the last 2 days, I change the water 50 percent at about 5 every day. Fed him a live feeder today, he got a good workout chasing the little guy haha

forgot to say that you should add seachem prime to condition the water. prime will neutralize the ammonia in your tank for up to 48 hours so if you do a 50% water change everyday your oscar won't suffer from ammonia poisioning and will be stronger and healthier so he can with stand the cycling. get the prime asap or some water conditioner that has the ability to take care of the ammonia. most people recommend prime as the best. i really hope this guy makes it.

The tiger oscar is doing well! I have him in the cycled 55 gallon tank, he swims a lot more in the new space. I'd say he's looking 100 percent! I'll post a picture!
