Newbie- good salinity level?

Hi all

Sorry for such a basic question but what is a good salinity level for a fish/reef tank 75 gal
I've read .021 to .27 depending on what you have.
Kinda confused in how it relates to corals vs fish ect
What is a good number to keep

Fish are pretty resilient and can handle a wide range but corals like it 1.025- .026. Neither like large swing so adjust it slowly like .01 per 1-2 days.
