Nitrates

How can I lower them I have a 20 gallon long and I did a 50 percent water change an there's no difference on my levels!!?? Please help

How many fish o you have? Are you done with your cycle? What type of water are you using? Ro/di?

how often do you feed?
how many fish?
have any meat eater fish (ie triggers, lionfish...ect)?
why type of water are you using?
how long has your tank been running?
how often do you do the water changes?

What do u do for filtration?( wet/dry on a sump, just a sump, canister)if so what kind of maintenance do you on ur filter?( change out Bio balls and clean them, change ur filter media etc.)

Do u have a protien Skimmer? This takes abunch of organics out of the water which would become nitrates?
