Hi,

I am in my second week of a fishless cycle and today when I checked the parameters I noticed my nitrites were of the scale! they were sitting comfortably at 5PPM!

The ammonia level was at 0.50 and my nitrates were around 5-10ppm

I am just after some advice on what I should do about this (if I should do something at all...)

The products I use to cycle my tank are:

'Microbe-lift Nite Out II' (states that I should add to aquarium daily until ammonium/nitrites no longer measurable)

'Microbe-lift Special Blend'

both these products I got from a LFS who has had 25+years of experience

I also have this:
'Love Fish Filter Boost' sold to me as basically fish poo in a bottle (for the source of ammonia) - This product was sold to me by Pets At Home as an alternative to fish in cycling because I refused to do it. (ALL I WANTED WAS AN API MASTER KIT)

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Keep going ,do nothing different yet.
The nitrites will drop off just like the ammonia ,but may take a little longer ..
No real formula for this so you have to just keep testing as you go.
