Non schooling fish suggestions for a 20

I have figured out I am not a fan of schooling fish that require groups in the tank. I also don't get excited about fish that hide most of the time.

What are some fish that can be kept as singles in a 20 gallon?

A single Bolivian ram would be a cool centerpiece fish. I have a male in my 29 and he is very relaxed.

Betta fish, Butterfly fish or Gourami's would make good options

Dwarf cichlids are my favorites for 20 gallon tanks.
Apistos, keyholes, kribs, rams, etc. Lots of choices, all are very colorful and have great personalities!
