hello all!
ive had this tank up since march. and have 2 LARGE mystery snails that ive had since setting up the tank! (theyre larger than a golf ball)
anyways.. I had a female, and she climbed out of the tank and cracked her shell and passed away.. I still had an egg clutch of hers.. so I incubated it and hatched it..
and i was definitely NOT prepared for over 100 snails to survive and grow!! and they verrrrry quickly polluted my tank and I was doing partial water changes daily..
finally found a friend that took about 50 or so.
and I donated the other 50+ to my LFS.
I still kept my 2 original. plus one small one to grow up..
but my 2 original have horrible spots and pitting on their shells!!
I use 'wondwrshell' calcium and put powdered calcium in the tank.. and I think having so many babies, they took all the calcium!! but now that theyre gone, it still doesnt seem to get better... any ideas on what I can do???
thank you for any help!
edit. my PH is steady around 7, slightlt acidic at times..
should I try baking soda? and how should I do it if so??
