Alright my tank has got some serious algae buildup, it's brown algae on the sides of the tank and I assume it's also what's building up on my stump, any suggestions or ideas?

Here's some pictures of the problem algae and the tank

Brown Algae (Diatoms) is due to high silica contents in the water. It looks like you have silica based PFS as your substrate.

How old is your tank? It tends to be most problematic with new tanks and eventually goes away on it's own as the Diatoms use up the silica. However ... ground water (tap) for your PWC's can also have high silica content so it may be you may never truly get rid of BA. I've had it in my tank literally after the first month. My fish don't mind it ... and I have to admit it gives a natural color ... but it can be an eyesore on the glass.

Aside from either just wiping it off, or letting the silica content in the water drop, Ottos love eating BA.

EDIT*** Here's a link I think can help.
