Aquarium Advice Freak
Okay.... I am use to having a apple snail that does not make babies with out another snail. I never worried about babies. Until now.
When our apple snail Gary died I let my daughter get another golden apple snail and a small black snail. I was assuming the black snail (not sure what kind its small) would multiply.
The last week or so we have not seen Elvira the black snail. Yesterday I had a glass tetra die and I got it out (not sure what happened was a fluke) and I saw what I thought was a small snail. I noticed my brown algae is getting cleaned up, thought it was the pleco!
Today I notice TONS of baby snails!!! omg. I am freaking out. Elvira even though she isnt seen she was BUSY!
I found one egg clutch today and got rid of it.
My question is this...
I adore snails but I dont want so many I cant deal with it or my tank is over ran by them. Since I like them I dont want to just murder them.
What can I do?
Will there be a balance or will they just keep going until there is way to much and I will have to resort to murder. ugh.
My tank is a 55gl that is NOT planted.
