Oscar biting!

Hi guys,

I have a 75 gal tank with a 3 inch tiger oscar and a 5 inch striped mystus catfish. I want to be able put my hands in the water without getting bitten. I have had him for about a month and have been putting my hand in there twice a day so he gets used to it. I feed him when he stops attacking my hand. Will he ever become less aggressive? Also, about how fast is their growth rate, I have heard an inch per month...is this true?

Stop putting your hand in there so much. when you do just put your whole hand in, don't ever just have finger tips around the top.

Not sure why you feel you need to stick your hands in there so much?
After all they are a fish and territorial to boot.
