I don't really plan on doing this, but I was wondering if you think an oscar can live with a discus.

If the tank was at... say... 82 degrees fahrenheit, and they were put together while young, could it work?

Why or why not?

Thank you.

Too many distinct differences, ideal habitat, diet, water temps, behaviour patterns, aggression...
Just the general overall non-compatibility of the two species

Ah, that's what I figured.

I understand Discus to be very finicky as far as care goes, and Oscars are greedy and moody.

seen 4 oscars, 1 sailfin pleco and 10 discus in a 240. all the fish got along great and the discus were all full of color and looked/behaved healthy.

There are exceptions to every rule and that would be IMHO very exceptional!
Looks can be very deceiving, especially when not observed for extended periods.
IMHO one or the other species were getting shortchanged in their respective needs.
There are just too many differences in their care, feeding and housing.
