Ottos and HC - are they compatible?

I'm using Aquasoil as my substrate. It has very little mass and does not anchor plant roots as well as denser substrates (such as gravel or sand). I've planted large areas in my aquarium with HC. Will Ottos dig up (uproot) the HC as they scour the bottom for food?

My ottos don't really ever go on the bottom, mine stick to the glass and the driftwood. I can tell you from experience though that cories will mess up your HC at every opportunity

Likely not, they should be ok. With aquasoil, some of the HC will get loose, you'll just need to bear with it for a while. Once it gets settled in and establishes itself it'll lock into the aquasoil and be fine.
