So I was surfing youtube and saw some videos of tanks that were green. I mean the water was so green if the fish swam a couple inches towards the back of the tank they disappeared. I saw a lot of people leaving comments on these videos that it was due to the fact that the aquariums were overlit. I never really thought that this was possible. So before I go and buy a light fixture for my new 40 breeder I want to make sure I dont end up with swamp water. I have been looking at getting: Aquaticlife t5 Freshwater 36" 2x39 watt, the 36" Nova Extreme X2 T5HO Fixtures, and the Marineland 36" double bright led system (though I am afraid this will not light up bright enough and leave shadow spots in the tank). Would these fixtures cause this nasty green water? I am considering a few simple live plants but may still end up doing fake plants if this makes any difference.
