Painting inside canopy?

I recently made a canopy for my fish tank and was wondering if it was OK to paint the inside with white gloss?

I've heard it done like that plenty of times but I mean white gloss you would paint your house with (skirting etc...) ?

I used white exterior house paint for inside my canopy, but it wasn't gloss. If you can get exterior gloss I don't see why you can't use it.

I used the white marine paint. Its meant to withstand the moisture. Its gloss and it really reflects the light good.

I've since painted it, just giving it a good few days to fully cure, looks good though!
