I have been searching for a set of triggers that I could pair up to be a bonded pair how difficult would it be to pair up say a clown trigger with the one I have or would it be easier to just get a male and female blue throat

To my knowledge, there is no definite way to sex Clown triggers. Even as mature fish, they tend to not pair for longer periods of times than for breeding so a pair of clowns is almost impossible in an aquarium. You would be better off with Triggers that do show external sexual differences ( usually colors) so you know you are getting a male and female or schooling types ( ie Odonus Niger) so that if they are not male & female, they won't kill each other.

Hope this helps. (y)
