Parasite help!

So a couple of my fish were having the stingy white waste and I just went out and got API general cure. It says on the box it treat multiple types and mines on there. Just wondering if there is any other steps I should b doing right now and how to prevent this.

Based on my experience, add salt occasionally in your tank a 2 to 3 days before you do your regular water change. It helps.

Yea I heard that but never had this problem before so ill have to start. Should I b feeding them during treatment
