Hello. So I have a guppy tank I set up about a month ago. 1 guppy from a pond. 2 from a stream, and about 15 from a bathtub a mile or so in the woods. Have them in a 10gal. The other day I noticed the pond one was dead at the bottom of the tank and had very small thin red and white worms coming out of him. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic but it occurred to me right after I disposed of him that they were likely parasites and I should’ve looked at them better to see what type they were. All my guppies have been eating well and look fine. I thought maybe the worms were camallanus but I put some fish poop under my microscope and saw absolutely nothing resembling worms or the eggs/larvae from them. Now comparing what I saw to camallanus, the worms looked a bit too thin to be them. Nothing moving either under microscope either. There was one unusual thing I saw though. A yellow disc that looks a lot like raillietina spp. Compared what I was seeing to images on google and that’s what I think it was. I’ll add pictures. I’m a little confused because I couldn’t find much about that parasite in guppies and was very surprised not to see anything moving around on its poop. Is it actually raillietina? Possibly something else? Is there a better way to identify parasites in fish. How would I treat them?
