pennywort

so I bought some pennywort on a whim, cuz I liked the lily pad effect it has. now I don't know what to do with it it's kinda all over the place, half planted, half floating. can it be floated? or should I try to root it in the sand? the pic is taken from the side.

Haha... join the crowd. 2 months ago I started with a plant that was about 3" and had 3 leaves on it. Now I have one with 5 stems shooting off in my 40 and 6 about 2-3 feet long in my 125. Grows like a weed! It's fine however you put it. I have some that's growing kind of like a ground cover as well, the roots are rooting in the substrate and its growing horizontal

I bought 3 stems a few years ago. And now every few months it has completely covered the top of my tank and I have to sell the clippings. It's out of control but a beautiful plant. It can grow both ways, I personally like it floating
