Aquarium Advice Regular
Hi guys,
I changed my CO2 from full time to solenoid synchronized with the timer controlling the lights. The timer is On 8 hours a day. I have 4 fluorescent supplying 110W and the tank is a 33Gal.
I fert through PPS-Pro.
Temperature is stable at 78. No ammonia, no nitrites, traces of nitrates in the morning before the ferts are added.
Gh = 60 mg/l
Kh = 70 mg/l
My problem is that when I wake up in the morning, pH is at 7.4-7.5, yet after a few hours of CO2, it goes down to 6.6 approximatly.
I would assume that my level of Hardness would create a descent buffer to prevent this swing. No CO2 is being used when lights are off. What is going on...? What should I do?
I could of course go back to full time CO2, but that is a pain to go fill the bottle every 3 week or so (I use the RedSea PaintBall system)
Thanks for the help!
