I have a ridiculously high ph (8+) but my fish have always been fine and are doing quite well. I was looking at getting some rams to put in one of my tanks though and im worried that its going to be to high. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with keeping rams at a high ph level and if it would work or not, otherwise how can i try to lower it.

8.0 is bit high ... but not unheard of. My tank's pH is somewhere between 7.4 - 7.6 and I don't have any carbonate rocks or crushed coral in the tank to raise pH. Chances are that the pH of any LFS by you may have a similar pH if they all use tap for their tanks. The Rams should adjust to your tank's pH if you acclimate them correctly.

A good way to naturally (no chemicals) to lower your pH is by adding DW or peat. Canister Filters like Fluvals offer Peat as a basket media.
