ph question

The ph in my 55 gallon freshwater tank is between 7.8 and 8.0. I tested the water out of my tap and it's the same. Should I be concerned about the high ph. I tested the water last week and it was the same so at least the ph isn't going up or down. Just hate to use chemicals to control levels in tank.

You could add a piece of driftwood its a natural ph buffer if you don't have one

You can do more harm than good when trying to control Ph with chemicals, adding DW as stated can naturally lower the Ph, but depending on the type of fish you have it might not be so bad. My water sat at 8.0 for quite some time and it caused no harm to the fish.
