I need to reduce phosphates in a large system (260 GAL). What would you use and why?

I just ran across a new product "Blue Life Phosphate Control" has anyone tried it? Thanks EzY33.

I've not tried "Blue Life Phosphate Control", but RowaPhos was recommended to me by others on this site months ago. I now run it in a cannister and have not had problems with phosphates since.

I've not used either of those product, usually phosphates come from your source water. What are you using to mix your SW with and top off with? I would test your source water for phosphates. If you are getting readings on a phosphate test that means you are getting it from somewhere.

If you are not getting it from your source water then I suggest more frequent PWCs and see if that corrects the situation before you start adding things to the tank.

Phosban is a good product as well, though I haven't used it either.

Use Rowaphos or Phosar (HC), which are iron-based media unlike Phosban.

Has anyone tried phosguard? If you have how has it worked?

Phosban is iron-based (ferric oxide hydroxide).

Thanks for catching that as I meant to type Phosguard. Sorry bout that :)
