well i checked my phosphate today after being out of town for 2 weeks and having my brother check baby my tank for me and its 1.0 and brown algae is covering the glass, not on the rocks or anything i do notice so nice collarine growing though :) , so i was wondering is phosguard anygood for removing phosphate?

I wouldn't use Phosguard. I heard it leaches aluminum into your system.

I'm personally going to buy the 2 -Dr.'s brand called PhosPure. It's really cheap & I'm betting it's identical the more expensive PO4 removers such as:

Kent PowerPhos
Marc Weiss Phosphate+Silicate Magnet
Rowaphos

Ya steer clear of the Phosgaurd.

i would do a water change and vaccum the sand. Then if you want to add some filter media, it will help.

What type of corals do you have?

Your brother probably overfed.
