It looks like all my plants are developing brown leaves and it's kind of algae looking. Are they going moldy and dying or just algae? If so what are some good snails or shrimp that will clean plants?

Is your tank new? Sounds like you have diatoms (brown algae) which is typical for new aquariums. I had that problem too. Diatoms feed on excess of silica and phosphates and once it runs out, they will die off on their own. That's the advice I got.

What helped me, I added small amount of phos-zorb in my filter media and started dosing seachem flourish excel daily. My plants got very luscious and diatoms went away. I also was cleaning off diatoms with a cotton pad every time I did water change. And I have one nerite snail that devours that type of algae.

Post a picture with your water test readings so people can give you a better advice and understanding of your problem. Good luck! :)
