Plants flowering?

How do I start the flowering?? Use the red lights and blue?

Do you know what type of plant this is? I've grown something similar from a bulb but haven't had any luck identifying it. Mine flowered pretty quickly, it took about a week from the stage shown above. At the moment I'm using a very cheap white and blue LED bar. (Not sure about the specs)

Aponogeton ulvaceus did they bloom? How do I know when it's done, do they need to be on the waters surface?

I'm just as clueless are you are. I just picked up a pack of bulbs and had two of these plants sprout. The first one had some pretty rapid growth while I was waiting for my tank to cycle. Here's some pictures of the leaves of my two plants that have been growing just under a month. They've been flowering for the past two weeks. As for ferts all I use is the occasional dose of easy green from aquarium co-op.

Interesting did they flower or just sprout seeds?

Mine did flower at some point without my interference. I believe they cross pollinated due to the filter constantly moving the water in that area and maybe catching some pollen with it. You could try using a paint brush or q tip and see if they will self pollinate. Just be patient with it, mine took a month to flower.
