I recently got a 15 gallon tall aquarium. It came with more than enough gravel (approx 2.5-3" deep). It has a 50watt heater. The filter it came with is a aqua-clear 150. It also has two compact life-glo bulbs 15watts each. The previous owner had it heavily planted before. My questions would be, what type of plants are good for a hospital tank? Should I get a few fish to keep in there at all times?

Attached is a picture of the setup and bulb.

Thank in advance!

IMO, if it is going to be a QT, it should have nothing in it that can't be removed and sterilized. No substrate, no wood, fake plants only, decor that is easily cleaned.

I agree. Plants benefit our display tank, but adding certain meds might damage or kill them. Plus your going to want to rinse the tank periodically and plants are just going to be a big hassle rather benefit. Couple fake plants would work perfect.
