Plants in Quarantine

I have a ich infestation in my main 29g tank, I bought a 5 gallon setup yesterday from walmart.

Rather then move my fish to the 5 gallon i put all my plants into it with no substrate..

Will my plants be fine in the 5 gallon? Lot of plants are just floating.. I plan to leave the plants in the 5 gallon till the ich dies naturally..

I might treat my main with copper not sure yet...
