Just wondered what plants will grow in my 20 gallon tank. I planted several in my rock substrate and they are all dying.

It comes down to lighting, I'm guessing you have the stock light, correct?

Yes, it's terrible! I bought a uv light but it's only 18 watts! I bought a Marineland 20 gallon from Petsmart. What should I do?

You need more wattage, 2-4 watts per gallon. I'm in the same boat as you because the highest wattage that they have for 18inches is 15 watts.

Instead of only one row of lighting like most tanks, my diy setup has 3 rows. One in front one middle and one towards the back, this way i get more wattage and focus it over the whole tank not just in the middle

What should I do or how can I remedy my problem or can I?

You'll either have to get another light fixture or retrofit the one you've got. You can't simply upgrade the wattage in a fluorescent fixture like you can with an incandescent fixture. Look at the Marineland Double Bright LED fixtures.
