I bought six platies last week. All seemed fine but one of them died a couple of days ago.

All my other fish have been fine and there were no signs that the fish was sick.

My other fish are -

6 Zebra Danio's
1 Pearl Gourami
1 Gold Gourami
1 Betta (Male)
1 Siamese Algae Eater
2 Bristlenose Catfish
3 Swordails
and the 5 platy's obviously

Tank is 240 litres

My readings are fine 0 Amonia, 0 Nitrites, 20 Nitrates
Tank is two months old, but was cycled with the danio's

Only thing I am a little concerned about is my water being 6.4 PH. I know Platy's and Swordtails for that matter nead Alkaline water and not acidic. So could it be a concern going forward? Or maybe one of the other fish killed \ harmed it. Hoping it's just a one off really.

Also know Platy's don't have long lifespan and have no idea how old it was when we got it from the shop

Hi your numbers look good. I'd put it down to bad stock. It happens sometimes. It would be a good idea to have a quarantine tank for all new fish so you can (mostly) avoid disease in your main tank.
