I have a white, slimy growth that showed up some time last night or this morning.

Are you talking about that white thing under the rock that the coral is attached to?

Could be a sponge that hitchhiked in to your tank from that coral, and waited until it was comfortable to move around or grow. I would keep an eye on it, and if you see it start to grow larger or invade things around it, start thinking about removal methods or come back here and ask for help.

Thanks for the help. I will keep an eye on it and see what it does.
