Ok so a friend of mine called me today and requested I come and pickup her fish. she was cleaning her tank after moving and had it out in the yard and broke her 55 gallon tank. The fish were fine so she requested that I take the fish as she was tired of dealing with the tank and now that its broken she wont replace it. I didn't even know she had fish but I now have her gravel and fish. She wouldn't give me the filter because I guess it was borrowed from another person. I really like the fish but don't have the $ to setup another tank so here is what I have and tell me what to place where please.
I have
1-figure 8 puffer- 3.25"
2- small angelfish- 2" (very tiny)
10- redeyed tetras- 2"
1- blue gourami- 3.5"
3- feeder goldfish- 2.5" (they are healthy and I have had them about 2 months now)(i used them to start my tank BEFORE I found this forum)
3- rainbow sharks- 3.5"
1- large black moor- 5"
2- algae eaters- 2"
1- albino pleco- 3"
I also have the following tanks up and running, and I can use water changes and the bacteria additive to adjust for the changes of fish if needed
1- 75 gallon (with aquatop canister filter for up to 175 gallon tank, 300 watt heater)
1- 20 gallon (with aqueon filter for up to 45 gallon tank, 100 watt heater)
1- 10 gallon (with tetra filter for up to 30 gallon tank, 100 watt heater)
I currently have the puffer, tetras and gourami in the 75
I have the 3 feeder goldfish, 2 algae eaters and the 2 small angelfish in the 10
I have the black moor, albino pleco and rainbow sharks in the 20 gallon
This arrangement does seem to be working out ok.
I am mainly worried for the angelfish getting into it with the goldfish and getting hurt.
I am also worried about the puffer getting aggressive with my gourami.
Now I do have tanks only in a 29 and 35 gallon size (free from craigslist) but not stands, lids, lights, or substrate for them. I can move the filters and heaters to them but still with the cats I have I can't use them without lids and stands and I don't really have the $ to get them right now. I plan to use or sell these eventually but right now they are just chilling in the corner.
Also does anyone have experience with angelfish? I am wondering how fast will they grow from the size of a quarter body they have now to the larger size commonly seen in stores at around 5-6 inches? My friend said she got them a couple weeks ago and didn't know much about them just saw them and liked them. I am wondering how long I have before I will need to get them in a big tank by themselves?
