okay so i put my 10g nano on a bookshelf but i realized (once filled with water) that my filter wouldnt fit between the tank and the back of the bookshelf (hope im making sence) so then i scooted the tank upwards but there is a ledge facing up so it cant be straight. so basically the tank is on a slant tilted upwards. is this okay?

Put the filter on the end of the tank instead..

yeah already tried that but i need a hood on it too and a light for coral so it wouldnt fit that way

How high is the lip of the shelf? I wouldn't go more than 1".. Try to keep the filter upright as possible. Put a wedge between the filter and tank at the bottom of filter.. Should work..
