Please ID this

Does anyone have any idea what this is??? It's only about 2mm but it's definitely alive, it moves around on my glass eating algae and stuff.
It has a very hard shell but I don't think it's a snail.
I don't mind it being in my tank since it isn't harming anything, I just want to know what it is.

It's related to snails. It is a FW limpet. Yes, they graze on algae and are harmless to plants.

They're interesting little things, I think. And fortunately, don't reproduce like snails do. You may get some young ones, but nothing like most snails.

I've had these in one of my tanks before, and when I added some plants that had pond snail on them. the pond snails started to eat all the limpets. This is some thing interesting that I've found so if you don't want limpets get pond snails.

Ditto! They do clean surfaces, albeit slowly.

Yep. I think limpets are more known for their SW species.
