Is there such a thing as too many pods? When I looked at my tank tonight with a flashlight the whole sand bed was moving. There isn't a spot that you cant see pods. Cool to watch though.
 
From what I have read so far, pods are good for fish food and other critters food in the tank. I would say that it is a good sign that you have a healthy tank if pods are reproducing. :) Possibly other members will confirm this is so or not.

If you wanted to decrease the population, you could get a mandarin, i bet you'd see the pod population go down. :D
