has anybody tried using pond fertilizer in an aquarium? i picked up several bottles for ten cents each. it tells me to use 1 tab per gallon of soil

can anyone translate that to a 10 or 30 gallon tank?

a brand name would help.
and are these water column ferts or root tabs? because it sounds like you're describing a root tab "1 tab per gallon of soil"

Then you can likely break/cut them into smaller chunks, and plant one every 6". SeaChem's root tabs for aquariums and ponds are identical except for size, and cost (the pond ones end up being cheaper).
