I have a torch coral that has "popped" one of its “heads” off. The head has been floating around in the tank for about 2 weeks and shows no signs of wanting to die.

I caught it and unsuccessfully attempted to superglue it to a small piece of Live Rock. It’s now sitting in breeder box so it will not find its way into a power head.

Any advice on what or how I should proceed or is the cause lost?

Wedge it between some rocks.

I don't know what causes coral to do that. Don't know if it's a reproductive thing or a case of a water quality issue or just something wrong with the coral. Always good to check the levels just to make sure. If all comes out well, then just wait and see what happens.
