Possible disease or fish fighting?

Hi my golden barb has developed some bright red lips and a cut on the back of his top fin today. I am unsure if it is a disease as the symptoms came on so quick. Any help would be really appreciated

Looks more like abrasions to me, rather than disease. Clean water and a quality slime coat promoting water conditioner will likely help with healing.

Observe the behavior of your tank as much as possible everyday. Looks like he's been in a fight.

I've seen barbs rip each other's mouths off before from lip locking. Might have to add one or two more barbs to diffuse any tension.

Got 5 full grown golden barbs and about another 20 different barbs in there

I just got a new light brighter so it might be the stress of that
