Possible goldfish disease in my pond.

A couple of years ago a friend gave me a few of her goldfish all 3 of them are having problems, two of them have swollen stomach's so bad that they look as if they are going to explode. And the other one has wart like lumps on it side and one underneath it's eye so it's eye is bulging right out. I was told that this may have been caused because they were being fed flake food but I don't know how true this is. If anybody knows the real cause of this and whether or not there is a cure for this then please tell me, thanks.

If you can obtain a copy of Aquarim Fish magazine, October edition, there is an article about distended abdomens. The article pertains to Cichlids But i imagine it could pertain to Goldfish also.
