Terraphyte Tank

A 60 gallon that combines aquatic and land plants to make a balanced water chemistry. Never any ammonia or nitrite and nitrates are steady at 20 ppm. Tank has 25 Red Wag Platies, 12 or so Orange Saddle Corydoras, a large number of Fancy Guppies and an Albino Pleco. There's a couple of dual sponge filters. The tank really doesn't require frequent water changes, but I change half the water a couple of times a month, plus top offs every day or two, because the tank is open and there's considerable evaporation.

Looks like good start. Lucky bambo is not a true aquatic. Should melt slowly.

I used to keep lucky bamboo in my tanks but they aren't really growing or anything, plus the wax melted off the top which I'm glad I noticed before it reached the water.
