What is the best way to clean a powerhead?

What do u mean by clean? Like sponge and watm water clean, or inside cleaning?

The two that I have are covered with dead coralline algae. I want to put them in my new tank but I want them to be clean.

The algae is made up of calcium. Let them sit in a bath of vinegar. Then scrub them clean
