A friend dropped her pregnant platy off at my house just a few days ago. I'm pretty much prepared for the fry, as I have the female in a 10 gallon with a small filter (with a sponge over the intake) and a 20 gallon for the female to go in after the birthing. I have platy fry food recipes and am ready for the fry whenever they come.
I'm wondering how much longer it will be though, some sources I've read say it'll be 2-3 weeks, some say 4-6. I have no doubt that many of you have experience with breeding livebearers (we all know they breed like rabbits, anyway.) haha. Here's a pic of her, she seems to like sitting by the heater, even though the temp of the tank is 77.
