I think that's a little to much for my pocket right now. I do plan on getting a nice one in a couple years.

You should link a few in your budget that you like and see how others respond. That way you get a good skimmer you can afford.

I was looking at a corelife 125 skimmer.

I don't know to many people running coralife skimmers. Doesn't make it a bad thing though. I have a homemade skimmer I got from an LFS. Eshopps and reef octopus are good brands. Check them out. Drs foster and smith has a few options in those brands.

The 125 isn't too bad. The 65 is not worth the time and effort IMO. If you get the 125, you should modify the needle wheel to make it more efficient. Google "mesh wheel mod".

That said, what exactly did you want to spend? I'll try to find something in your budget.
