Purple Parrot Ciclid bullying.

Hi. I just added two purple (orange) parrot ciclids to my tank and one has completely taken over. It won't let the other out of the corner of a 96g tank. The tank only has three other ciclids that are an inch each. Any ideas to stop the bullying?

Were they the same size when they were put in?

They appeared to be the same until I got them home and noticed one slightly larger then the other. Bully being the large.

Take him out, give him a slap and put him back

OK I did and he slapped me back. Worse then I thought!

Seriously though, if it were me I'd trade the bully this w/e for a different cichlid.

Not owned them but from what I've seen in shops they look pretty hard on each other, those Parrotts.

When one parrot is bigger that one gains "confidence" and believes it is his or her territory causing bullying. Add some more cave like structures. Should be good.
