Yeah, not much of a big thing, you expected "QP's 260 Gallon Build"?

Less is more. (Mfdrookie :D )

I want to aquascape this thing to the max. I'm picking the tank up some time this week.

- 2.5 Gallon Aqueon All Glass Aquarium

- Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter

- I need help on the lighting/hood...

Substrate: Planning to use black pebbles/gravel.

Build:

I plan on a piece of DW in the center, some crypts and some java fern on the sides, and some moss on the DW.

I don't know if the filter can handle it though, ideas?

Generics and possesions-

Note the tank will not have dividers lol-

Nicceee bro ill be following this!

Sounds like a cool idea, and i assume this will be loaded with shrimp? The plants seem like good choices too, whats your lighting?

Sounds cool!

No idea, I need help with the lightning. It's for my little brother's hostage...

Oh, got it. I recommend bumping up the gallonage to 5, not 2.5. It is just better imo.

As for the lighting, it will be hard to find somthing that doesnt come with the tank that can support high light plants. Maybe the stock lights will be enough for your lower light plants!

2.5 is fine. And I'm doing low lights, lol. Might get a single 10w fixture.

2.5 is fine...but 5 is better;)

Ya, i suggest maybe just java fern, java moss, and anubias

Thats what I said lol! And yes I plan to if all goes right. Mom is dead set against it dad feels guilty on the impulse betta buy so i'll see how it all works out.

Does dried driftwood leech tannins when set into a tank?

Haha well i hope you can upgrade!

Ya, dw leaches tannins. Tannins arent bad for a fish in any way, and some people actually like the look of it. If you dont like the look, boil the wood until the water it is in stays clear. That could take several hours

Btw your message inbox is full

I know :S will clear it out when I get on comp.

I don't want to upgrade lol 2.5g is fine. And even if it's been bone dry on a shelf for weeks?

Sheesh!

I have dw in my cichlid tank but I got it pre-leeched...

Ya, even if. You could boil it just in case and make sure it has no tannins!

As for those filters, as long as you keep your bio-load way down, it will do fine. I have a few of them running around that I used on my 5g set ups.

Yep, I know, but it seems like you say it's not good as I have to keep the bioload way down. I only have one and it seems ok!

CHANGE OF PLANS:

Getting a Fluval Spec, will go from there!

I meant shrimp vs fish.

If you keep the tank to shrimp, it will be just fine.

If you try to keep fish overstocked (which some people will do in a tank that small) then it wouldn't do as good
