Im no expert, but from what I have researched on this, you want one that will be able to handle your livestock. If you had some sort of outbrake that you had to QT all of your fish, would it be able to handle all them?
I currently use a 10 gal tank, however, once my tank is all said and done i would need a 30 or so QT tank.
If you have a couple larger fish needing QT, they probably wouldn't fit in a 10 gal.
