OK, I have a 20 gal I want to set up as a quarantine tank. Here's my delema,\. I live in Florida (HOT). I keep my reef main tank at 77 F with the help of a chiller. Well, a 20 gal. QT tank, without a chiller would heat up to around 85 F. Not good for most reef critters. I don't have several hundreds of dollars to invest in another small chiller.

Does anyone else live in a hot climate? How would you set up a QT tank?
Is there some sort od small affordable chiller product I can use?

Thanks in advance for any advice you could offer?

Turn the a/c on in the house that should keep the tank cool I don't see how the inside of your house could get the tank up to 85 degrees Thats insane I keep mine at 78 degrees and my tanks never reach that temp. And I also live in Florida

A floor fan works wonders when it blows across the top of the water....

A/c

LOL, of course I have my A/C on. Keep the house at about 76 - 78 F.
So, that doesn't help with the temp. I'm just running a small bio-wheel external filter and a maxi-jet 400 inside. When I measured the temp this eveing it was 85. Would the MJ 400 create that much heat?
