Hey guys, I'm new to the whole planted tank thing and just spent a fair bit of money on my led light as have just done the math on my watts per gallon and I'm barely making it outside of low light if at all.
Light comes to 48 watts while my tank is 35 gallons

Here is a link to my light to see if I'm missing something.

SS Freshwater

I don't need high lighting but I would like to be able to grow more than java fern and moss with my lights!!

Thanks for any help.

I'm unfamiliar with those specific LEDs, but being 3watt diodes, I'd imagine that you wouldn't be in low light. Does the tank look dim to you? One thing I've learned about LEDs is that watts per gallon is sort of irrelevant and not a reliable guideline to determine your light level. PAR values would be a better determinant.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Yeah it's a lovely maunfacturer here in Australia.
I would of spent the money to get more powerful lights if I needed them hope I wasn't duped into a sale. Or if need be I can see if I can piggy back them some how. Just makes it super expensive. Seems getting a taller tank worked against me...
