How do you sex a Rainbow Cichlid? I'll be picking one up next weekend, it's being given to me, as his other fish are getting too large for it to be in the same tank. Will have pics when I get it. Just would like to be able to possibly sex it, as he doesn't know if it's male or female.

As a general rule, the males of Herotilapia multispinosa are more colorful than their female counterparts, which remain relatively dull, even in adulthood. Also, the fins of the male tend to trail towards the back. These signs are not 100% foolproof though. If you really need to determine gender, then I'd suggest venting.
