I have a 55g tank with LR & DSB currently lit with Hagen Glomats (25w Power-Glo & 25w Marine Glo). Tank has a few mushrooms which along with LR seems to be thriving. No plans for high light requiring corals. Maybe some Polyps and the like. Question 1 - What would happen if I added one more flourescent of a type made to grow plants? Question 2 - What about adding a couple of those 'curly' type compact flourecent bulbs into the hood? The hood has room for one more tube or 2 curly pc's, etc.

I would be wary of the "grow light" as the spectrum will most likley be on the lower side and may cause you some various algae issues.

The mogul PC lights would be a good addition but the same thing applies. Make sure they are manufactured for aquarium use and at the right light spectrum. House lighting will be much lower (<5500 k) and will also cause algae problems.
